Ulmatec Thermal Solutions signs new contract with Sea1 Offshore

Ulmatec Thermal Solutions (Ulmatec Pyro AS) has been awarded contracts to deliver its Integrated Central Heating System (ICHS) to Sea1 Offshore’s four new offshore energy construction vessel (OESV) newbuilds at COSCO Shipping (Qidong) Offshore in China.
All vessels will be built to Skipsteknisk AS’s ST-245 design, equipped with modern technology to reduce emissions and maximize operational efficiency. The vessels will be 120 meters in length, featuring an open deck of 1,400 m² and accommodation for up to 120 people.
The ICHS from Ulmatec Thermal Solutions will contribute to lowering fuel consumption and ensure optimum energy efficiency by avoiding fuel consumption for heating purposes from fuel fired boilers: In operation the system will continuously recover waste heat from the engine’s cooling water. The waste heat will automatically be re-purposed and distributed by Ulmatec’s proprietary Central Heating Management System to various heat consumers onboard. Such consumers include sanitary hot water systems, HVAC-systems, tank heating and engine pre-heating systems.
The autonomous nature of the system will guarantee that fuel consumption from fuel fired boilers is minimized and prioritize free and available waste heat for consumption, hence optimizing the vessel’s overall fuel performance at any time.
We congratulate Sea1 Offshore AS with their new state-of-the-art and forward-looking vessel designs in terms of energy efficiency and are grateful for the trust granted by COSCO Shipping Group Co. Ltd.
